To the East did Sir Quincy go
What adventures lay ahead he did not know
Riding past meadows of verdant green
He came across the most horrid sight he’d ever seen

The town was razed entirely to the ground
Not a single soul remained around
Mayhap this is the work of the guardian of the cave
I must gather my wits, steel myself, and be brave

Through the town of ash and smoke
A booming voice suddenly spoke
So you finally came back you wretched knave
Come now I await you in the depths of your cave

So ever forward did Quincy go
Entering a cave with walls the color of snow
As he crossed over some fallen rocks
He turned a bend and caught quite a shock

The tunnel led to a wide open space
Where Quincy could spot dead bodies all over the place
But the greatest terror did yet lie
Glaring at Quincy with raging red eyes

It was tall, red, and covered in scales
With wings on its back and a long spiked tail
It was a dragon that much was true
Was this the beast Quincy had been sent to subdue

Quincy’s eyes went to the dragon’s jaw
It was starting to slowly open its maw
Should he speak, or give attacking a try
If he made the wrong choice, he was surely going to die
