The Power of Knowledge

Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a time
Teach a man to fish, out of poverty he may climb
Knowledge is power or so they say
But is this still true in the modern day

Without knowledge we wouldn’t have any power
Cell phones wouldn’t exist without any towers
The internet would be a thing of the past
And our communications would not be as fast

Without knowledge modern medicine wouldn’t come to light
And people would be dying in the street left and right
Without knowledge there is much we could not glean
Such as curing illnesses through the use of vaccines

Without knowledge we wouldn’t grow as much food
And many more would be left hungry and nude
Because our clothing manufacturing you see
Is tied to our knowledge of modern industry

Without knowledge so much would not exist
And many people would struggle to subsist
We are only able to live the modern way
Because new knowledge is discovered every day
