Starry Sky

Though they may be burning billions of miles away
They have a profound effect on humanity every day
Inspiring photographers and astronomers each night
Just a few of them will set the blackness alight

They serve as a guide out of despair
And light the fires of hope in people’s hearts everywhere
Fiery beacons, there to light the way
It is their job to keep the darkness at bay

In the wild, their light will keep you secure
As long as they are out, nothing will be too obscure
Use them to guide you home if you are lost
And they’ll continue burning bright no matter the cost

Yet their lifespan is not eternal and one day they will fall
The glow will then dim in that wondrous ball
Such is the destiny of everything that exists
Everything ends, it’s pointless to resist

Worry not there is time that yet remains
To view the beauty of the sky above the plains
It is breathtaking, such a wonderful sight
To view the kaleidoscope that is a starry night
