Ringing of the Bells

As I walk along the silent road
Traveling through paths untold
The bells ring loud and forlorn
As I look back in fear and scorn

I continue on as day turns into night
Ever wandering full with fright
The bells ring on throughout the dale
And I continue on, my face turning pale

The flaming ball rises to greet the day
And I journey forth as I may
Yet I continue on through dangers fraught
The bells ring out, my body becomes taut

Every beginning leads to another end
As I into the deep valleys descend
The bells continue to ring in my ears
Why do they instill a nameless fear?

The bells signify the end of life
Yet I push on through the strife
As I continue to run away
From the end of my final day
