Mist and Shadow

As the shadows slowly begin to fall
The darkness starts it’s wailing call
Begging me into the mists to wade
And telling me everything will soon fade

And so into the mist I slowly dip my toes
What lies beyond no living person knows
Yet I cannot help myself but to recoil
As I jump away from the churning roil

You are a tempter most vile
It would be easy to here end my trial
But there are many paths yet to tread
I will continue on my road instead

While my home lays behind, the future is bright
The world lays beyond full of light
Do not try to draw me in to your dark designs
I choose to leave your evil behind

Though I walk through shadow to the edge of night
I will never give up the eternal fight
And though others may succumb to your ways
I swear you will not have me until the end of my days
